The Courtsmiths Information

The CourtSmiths have been engaged in the design and construction of tennis courts, pickleball courts, running tracks and basketball courts since the 1960s. Founded by Kevin Smith and now run by his sons Mike and Pete, the company has received numerous awards in the tennis construction industry including the Racquet Sports Industry Magazines Builder of the Year in 2006, the first for any firm in the Midwest. Affectionately called Uncle Kevin within the industry; Kevin Smith was a past Chairman of the United States Tennis Court & Track Builders Association, now the American Sports Builders, he is a recipient of the Industry Merit Award for lifetime achievement in 2000, a founder of the Tennis Contractors Certification program and Chairman of its Ethics Committee as well as author of a number of published articles. His sons Mike and Pete, who have almost 70 years of experience in design and construction, now run the company. Mike is the companys president; with over 35 years involved in the design and construction of sports venues including numerous award winning facilities. Pete is a past Chairman of the American Sports Builders Association, having previously served as: Tennis Division President, Elections/Nominations and Awards Committee chairman.
