The Court Theatre Information

The Court Theatre is New Zealand’s largest theatre company. Our current home is in The Shed in Addington, Christchurch. The Court Theatre aims to enrich, support and sustain Christchurch and Canterbury audiences by providing theatre of the highest quality. The Court Theatre celebrates the New Zealand voice on stage, regularly programming original and established New Zealand theatre work as well as commissioning and developing original New Zealand plays. The Court also seeks to connect local communities with the rest of the world through shared story-telling, producing international, contemporary and classic plays that engage, challenge and inspire. The Court’s education and outreach programme supports this kaupapa by introducing new audiences to the organisation through various pathways and deepening levels of engagement for audiences.
