Unity House of Cayuga County, Inc. provides transitional and permanent housing, respite care, and rehabilitative and employment services for individuals with mental illnesses, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and/or chemical dependencies from which they are recovering. A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1977, Unity House partners with these individuals to develop their personal skills and potential, enabling them to live more full and independent lives. The agency is committed to providing consumer-centered and consumer-driven services, programs, and supports, serving more than 700 consumers a day in six central New York counties (Cayuga, Tompkins, Wayne, Onondaga, Seneca, and Ontario). Unity House also seeks to free our communities of misconceptions associated with disabilities through innovation, education, and advocacy. Unity House’s headquarters are located in Auburn, New York. The agency employs more than 300 people and is licensed by the New York State Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), the New York State Department of Health (DOH), and the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). The company operates four (4) retail superstore locations showcasing new and one-of-a-kind closeout and scratch 'n dent models of kitchen and laundry room appliances from industry leading brands like GE, Frigidaire, Bosch, Samsung, Electrolux, and more. Headquartered in West Chester, OH, Recker and Boerger dispatches a fleet of HVAC installation and service technicians trained to address repair or replacement services on any brand or model of central air conditioning, heating, or water treatment system. The company operates same day and scheduled appointment-based HVAC services six days a week and emergency on-call service during Sundays and holidays. Recker and Boerger's retail superstore locations are open 7-days a week.
