The UK carpet industry’s lead body, we are a not for profit Trade Association. We represent independent carpet retailers and are supported by 19 leading manufacturers and suppliers. We are also the only Government approved supplier of ADR in the carpet industry. We have two primary objectives – promoting the independent carpet retailer and promoting carpet to end users. This at a time when a Which? Magazine survey in December 2019 of 2,100 carpet buyers overwhelmingly showed that independent carpet retailers were the preferred choice with a 90% satisfaction rating and a full five stars for customer service and value for money. Joining the Carpet Foundation doesn’t cost thousands of pounds. Membership is a flat fee of £35 a month - all retailers pay the same. For that you get exclusive access to the TSI accredited Code of Practice, (a deal clincher) which is a powerful point of differentiation over competitors and reassurance for consumers. We also promote our retailers and carpet to the consumer, be it in magazines, on our website or on social media. We ‘bat for the industry’ on technical matters and collect, collate and publish information on topics such as asthma, underfloor heating and mothproofing. We also provide conciliation help. Additional benefits include preferential rates with third party suppliers. For example, we have done a deal with E buyer, the largest independent online retailer of computer and electrical goods.
