The Caker Information

Hi, I'm Jordan Rondel. In 2010, when I was 21, I started a cakery called The Caker in Auckland, New Zealand. Being a self-taught baker, I developed a style of cake that really celebrates the beauty and deliciousness of home baking. My French grandparents instilled in me a respect for using real ingredients, and all of my cakes are based on this ethos. 5 years into business, my partner in crime, my sister, Anouk, joined me after learning a career in law wasn’t quite for her, and we’ve never looked back. Now we have cakeries in Auckland and Los Angeles, alongside which I write recipes and recipe books. I also chose some of my favorite recipes to turn into cake mixes (we like to call them ‘cake 'kits’ because they come complete with decorations and a non-stick baking pan liner). And we put all the same quality ingredients I use on a daily basis inside of them so you end up with a true Caker cake. Our goal is for more people around the world to experience the joy that comes from great cake in one way or another - that joy is the reason I became The Caker.
