KERRVILLE- The Cailloux Foundation (the Foundation) in Kerrville, Texas, is celebrating its twentieth anniversary by awarding 20 college scholarships to area students this month. The Foundation was established by Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux in 1994 to perpetuate their philanthropic vision. Floyd Cailloux was one of the original founders of Keystone International and was instrumental in the company becoming an industry leader in the manufacturing and marketing of flow control products for general industry and municipalities. The Foundation established The Cailloux Foundation Scholarship Program in 2000 to benefit graduating seniors from pre-selected Texas Hill Country high schools. "The Foundation has awarded 234 scholarships worth more than $6,800,000 since the program's inception in 2000 and we are committed to the program," said Ben Modisett, Assistant Executive Director for the Foundation, "Twenty scholarships is a record number of awards for us and we thought it was appropriate to help commemorate the twentieth year of the Foundation," he added. The 2014 recipients have been chosen from high schools in Bandera, Camp Wood, Center Point, Comfort, Fredericksburg, Harper, Ingram, Kerrville, Leakey, Mason, and Medina. Awards are up to $14,000 per recipient annually and are for undergraduate study only. The scholarships are renewable for up to four years for a maximum multi-year award of $56,000 per student. Scholarship recipients attend four-year public or private colleges or universities in Texas. The 2014-2015 program will have 71 freshmen through senior level students participating as scholarship recipients enrolled at 18 institutions of higher learning in Texas.
