The Wood County Economic Development office was created to organize and foster sustained economic growth in Wood County, West Virginia. It is made up of two different but inter-related organizations that each plays a vital role in the retention and creation of jobs and the promotion of investments in our community. The Wood County Development Authority assists with development projects through the use of a variety financial tools including Industrial Revenue Bonds and the creation of Tax Increment Financing zones. The Parkersburg-Wood County Area Development Corporation's mission is the marketing and coordination of Wood County's development activities in a manner which will maintain and expand the business and industrial base of Wood County.
