The Africa Medicines Impact Investment Fund Information

The Africa Medicines Impact Investment Fund (AMIIF) is an innovative purpose-driven investment vehicle that will deliver measurable social and development impacts by increasing access to affordable, good quality medicines and diagnostics in sub-Saharan Africa, through providing capital for initiating and scaling up regional pharmaceutical marketplace innovations and social-purpose business initiatives which have a measurable impact on achieving this objective. The Fund believes that investing in ventures that have both social and commercial returns can lead to significant development outcomes that are sustainable in the long run. Further to which, the Fund believes that such a structure can act as a catalyst for private sector investment where previously it has been dominated by public sector funding. The primary objective of the Fund is to deliver measurable social and development impacts by increasing access to affordable, good quality essential medicines in Sub-Saharan Africa, through providing debt funding for initiating and scaling up regional pharmaceutical marketplace innovations and social-purpose business initiatives. The Fund has both social and financial objectives.
