The ACC_Namibia Competitors

A premier African academic institution with a geographic spread that covers the whole of Namibia and offers many choices to the region and the world. Consistently ranked among Africa’s top 50 universities for over a decade, UNAM is the largest university in Namibia, with a wide range of disciplines, including programmes in Medicine, Dentistry, Humanities, Engineering, Law, Tourism, Commerce, Veterinary Science, and several others. It’s comprised of 12 Campuses in different parts of the country with the headquarters located in the Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia.

The Ministry derives its mandate from the Namibian Constitution, in particular Article 20 which deals with education, and Articles 19 and 21 which make provision for arts and culture. Mandate "To educate and train for sustainable national development & promote arts and culture.” Vision "To be the Ministry of excellence in providing quality inclusive education and promoting Arts and Culture for the prosperity of the Nation.”

The Poly was established by Act 33 / 1994 of the Namibian Parliament. The institution was recently given approval by Cabinet to change its name to the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). The institution has six Schools/Faculties and 10 Centres of Excellence. The institution has grown from 2466 students in 1996 to approximately 13000 this year.
