My business journey began in 1996 while working as a chef. After the birth of my first son, I wanted more time with my young family—ideally doing something connected to my passion for food. This led me to start a manufacturing company, formulating and introducing innovative products to major brands and supermarket chains. After a few challenging years (and a few more kids), the business had grown to a team of 75 with $10 million in turnover. In 2013, a major setback struck when $5 million worth of products went unpaid by a large pharmaceutical company. During this difficult period, my focus began shifting toward Purewellness—a brand I had quietly started in 2006 as a hobby, inspired by my love for food and health. Jason & Abby By 2016, I moved away from exclusively manufacturing for large supermarket chains and nutritional brands, opening retail stores to connect directly with our customers. The brand gained presence in all major retail channels—until COVID-19 forced our stores to close. Refusing to give up, in 2021 I relaunched Purewellness online, offering wholesale and retail superfoods, vitamins, and botanical extracts sourced globally at the best possible prices. Today, with a dedicated team of 16, we continue to grow and serve customers across Australia. I’m deeply grateful to the Australian community for supporting us through every stage of this journey and for helping us become one of the nation’s leading suppliers in our field. We have a special interest in EMDR Therapy for the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
