Thames Water is the UK’s biggest water and wastewater services provider, providing 2.7 billion litres of drinking water and safely removing 4.6 billion litres of wastewater every day. Our people provide essential services around the clock to c.16 million customers across London, the Thames Valley, and surrounding areas. In 2025, we started the biggest upgrade to our network in 150 years, which will see a record-breaking investment of over £20 billion, fixing leaks, reducing pollution and protecting water quality, over the next five years. In 2024/25, we invested £2.2 billion, and we will continue to spend wisely on improving resilience, service, and efficiency, as well as provide more support for customers in vulnerable circumstances. We also have additional responsibilities to society and the natural environment. What we do and how we do it delivers significant public value, which is why we have ambitious plans to self-generate more of our own power, reduce our carbon emissions and increase biodiversity across our sites.

We're the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways across England and Wales, because we believe that life is better by water. Our research findings are showing that spending time by water, whether it be your lunchbreak, daily commute or just a weekend stroll, really does make us feel happier and healthier. With ever increasing rates of obesity and stress and declining mental health in the UK, we believe we are uniquely placed to make a significant contribution to improving the wellbeing of millions of people. Many of the waterways we care for run through some of our country’s most deprived and multi-cultural urban communities where access to quality green space is scarce. That’s why, at Canal & River Trust, our passionate team are working with volunteers and communities across England and Wales to transform their canals and rivers into spaces where local people want to spend time and feel better. We know this will bring wellbeing opportunities to millions.

We are dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wetlands. Our vision is a world where wetlands are treasured and nurtured for their beauty, the life they support, and the resources they provide. Based mostly in the developing world, we have 20 regional, national or project offices in all continents and a head office in the Netherlands. We work in over 100 countries and at several, very different scales to tackle the most pressing problems affecting wetlands. With the support of dozens of governmental, NGO and corporate donors and partners, we support over 100 projects. Our work ranges from research and community-based field projects to advocacy and engagement with governments, corporate and international policy fora and conventions. Wetlands International works through partnerships and is supported by contributions from an extensive specialist expert network and tens of thousands of volunteers.
