TRON DAO is a community-governed decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), dedicated to the further growth of the TRON public blockchain, and the TRC-20 standards for decentralized applications and smart contracts. Founded in September 2017 by H.E. Justin Sun, the TRON blockchain has experienced significant growth since its MainNet launch in May of 2018. The TRON network completed full decentralization in 2021 and is now a community-governed DAO. TRON was also designated as the national blockchain for the Commonwealth of Dominica, marking the first time that a major public blockchain partnered with a sovereign nation to develop a national blockchain infrastructure and codify statutory status for digital tokens as an authorized currency and medium of exchange in the country.
