Texas Tamale Company was born in a local street cart in 1985 to create a homemade, lard-free tamale recipe that could be enjoyed by native Houstonians, to then being introduced to the U.S. market! In recent decades, they have grown into a nationally distributed brand. The New York Times and the Houston Chronicle have given rave reviews, and Texas Monthly Magazine named their tamales among the 'best mail-order tamales in Texas and store-bought brands!'
