Like in any other young (or reignited) entrepreneurial ecosystem, Spain has the opportunity to generate sustainable business models around emerging technologies; in particular, those related to uncharted territories like IoT. The room for improvement of frameworks for startup development here in Spain is probably bigger than ever before. Know-how has been developed in the past decade in an ecosystem that is, by local nature, fragmented. An explosion of over 250 accelerator programs have been capturing that value opportunity in the software arena; however, virtually nothing had happened on Hardware - just yet. Mainly due to a lack of investable products in the middle phases of development. That’s exactly where TestrBox is intended to add most of it’s value: creating and sustaining an ecosystem of hardware developer startups, helping them to find a suitable Business Model and Market Fit of their products. TestrBox would help hardware entrepreneurs from the very early stages of product development all the way up to the doors of mass production. To accomplish that, we’ll deploy a Hardware Development Program based on Design for Manufacturing to help some selected startups to polish their Business Models and Market Fit of their products as well as complying with the 101 of manufacturing; that way, de-risking future investment opportunities.
