Templar Autonomy is building a composable autonomy stack for underwater vehicles. Our mission is to provide the foundational software infrastructure required to develop, deploy, and operate autonomous maritime systems. We believe autonomy should be modular, deterministic, and extensible—allowing operators and developers to evolve vehicle behavior without rebuilding entire software stacks. Our first product, Aegis, is a backseat autonomy runtime that provides mission execution and context-aware fault handling through the Tenet domain-specific language (DSL). Aegis enables autonomy behavior to be developed independently of vehicle firmware, accelerating development while preserving platform integrity. Templar Autonomy's long-term vision is a complete autonomy stack spanning perception, sensor fusion, navigation, orchestration, protocol abstraction, and vehicle control for next-generation underwater systems.
