The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, Norway.
The National Museum holds, preserves, exhibits, and promotes public knowledge about, Norway's most extensive collections of art, architecture and design. It shows permanent exhibitions of works from its own collections and temporary exhibitions that incorporate works loaned from elsewhere. The Museum's exhibition venues in Oslo are the National Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the National Museum – Architecture, and the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. The Museum's programme also includes exhibitions that tour both within and beyond Norway's borders.
GALLERI F 15 was founded in 1966 and is one of Norway’s oldest and most prestigious exhibition venues for Norwegian and Nordic crafts and contemporary art. The unique nature of the gallery lies in the distinctive combination of the art and the architecture of the site on a 19th-century estate situated in a historic landscape.
The gallery’s artistic profile is experimental and exploratory and produces socially relevant exhibitions. Through partnerships with local and international stakeholders in the arts and culture, a targeted effort is made to ensure topicality and engagement with a wide audience. Galleri F 15 produces publications and organises meetings with artists and provides a programme of family
activities as part of its exhibitions.
The Momentum Biennial was initially held in 1998 and is one of the oldest and
most important venues exhibiting contemporary art in the Nordic countries. Momentum is our largest international venture and takes place every other year. In 2021, it will have three parts and run from March to October. The Biennial will use Galleri F 15 and the surrounding natural landscape as its main venue.
Kunstnernes Hus (The House of Artists) is an art institution in the centre of Oslo. Established by artists in 1930 to show both Norwegian and international art, it has since then become the most important independent institution in Norway led by artists, specifically dedicated to contemporary art. The building is an architectonic landmark designed by architects Gudolf Blakstad and Herman Munthe-Kaas, and is one of the foremost examples of the intersection of neoclassicism and functionalism in Norway.
With exhibitions, films, talks, concerts, lectures and seminars, we are a major venue for art and culture. Kunstnernes Hus has held major international exhibitions and Norwegian exhibitions since it opened in 1930.
