Sharif University of Technology (SUT) is the highest ranked technological university in the Islamic Republic of Iran. SUT has expanded its services and today, it comprises 13 different departments in science and engineering. All departments offer B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs. SUT has established several research centers. These centers, while maintaining their own separate identities, co-exist within the university system. شهرداری تهران یک موسسه عمومی غیردولتی است که در ۱۲ خرداد سال ۱۲۸۶ خورشیدی با نام بلدیه تهران، تأسیس شد و مدیریت شهری شهر تهران را به عهده دارد. مسئولیت مدیریت این سازمان با شهردار تهران است که پیش از این با حکم وزیر کشور ایران منصوب میگردید اما اکنون از طریق رایگیری در شورای شهر تهران انتخاب میشود. شهرداری تهران شامل ۲۲ منطقه است که مدیریت هر منطقه به عهده شهردار آن منطقه است که توسط شهردار تهران انتخاب میشود و با نظارت معاون امور مناطق فعالیت میکند. هر منطقه شامل تعدادی ناحیه میباشد. در کل تهران دارای ۱۲۲ ناحیه است که با اجرای طرح ناحیه محوری در دوره محمد باقر قالیباف هر ناحیه یک شهردار ناحیه نیز دارد که توسط شهرداران مناطق تعیین میگردد .طرح جامع شهر تهران در زمان شهرداری غلامرضا نیکپی تدوین شد. از شاخصترین شهرداران تهران، غلامحسین کرباسچی (از ۱۳۶۸ تا ۱۳۷۷)، محمود احمدینژاد (از ۱۳۸۲ تا ۱۳۸۴) و محمد باقر قالیباف (از ۱۳۸۴ تا کنون) هستند. شهردار تهران از شهریور ۱۳۸۴ تا کنون محمدباقر قالیباف است. در حال حاضر ساختمان مرکزی شهرداری تهران واقع در خیابان بهشت ضلع جنوب پارک شهر تهران است. عمده درآمد شهرداری تهران از فروش تراکم برای املاک و ساخت و سازها میباشد. شهرداری تهران به صورت خودگردان اداره میشود و بجز برخی کمکهای دولتی که فقط به حمل و نقل عمومی مربوط است هیچ بودجه دولتی ندارد.
