Tehachapi Winery Information

Our Winery is located in Cummings Valley, nestled in the Tehachapi Mountain range. Our grapes slowly ripen on the vine with concentrated sunlight (3922 feet above sea level), gentle breezes and 278 days of clear days and nights. The well-drained Triassic soils of granite lend to a rich and complex terroir With 13 acres of vines already planted on the 42-acre property, Tehachapi Winery is also the areas largest wine company in terms of production size. Tehachapi Winery is also unique in that it is producing red wines, whereas other local vineyards are making mostly white and rosé wines. Our focus and passion are four red varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah . We chose Tehachapi for its distinct viticultural attributes. Known as the Land of Four Seasons, a rare and unique terroir, it lends to award-winning wines, with various growers having won gold, silver and bronze medals in international, American and state competitions. Tehachapi is a new AVA designate and is unique for growing wines given its elevation, comparable to some higher altitude vineyards in Argentina, Italy, and the Spanish Canary Islands.
