TEDxNicosia Information

TEDxNicosia was born in quest for inspiration and dialogue instigation within our day-to-day lives here in Nicosia, Cyprus. It is the very first TEDx event presented on the island in 2011 as an initiative by our Founder, Marina Theodotou, bringing the TED like experience of ‘ideas worth spreading.’ TEDxNicosia is a non-profit initiative, organized and operated by a passionate and experienced team of volunteers. Everyone with their own superhero power, from logistics, to operational and supply chain management, to creative design and web development, to communication, film production and finance among others. All share a common drive to make a real impact in the community we live in. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.) About TED TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a conference in California 1984, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with many initiatives.
