TEDxEastsidePrep Information

The theme of TEDxEastsidePrep 2013 was Evolution of Instruction—Building Understanding. Our inquiry was driven by these guiding questions: What ways of building understanding (doing and thinking) will contribute to shifts in education over the next 5-20 years? What components are essential to building understanding? (in education, in work, in life) How could the educational experience (in school and outside of school) of young people be re-imagined to be more engaging, more immersive and empower lifetime learning? About TEDx What is TEDx? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxEastsidePrep, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxEastsidePrep event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
