TEDxAkron was originally organized by Sam Falletta and Ned Parks in 2011 as an effort to bring members of the Akron community together to discuss issues that impact the community and bring a positive change to the world beginning in Akron, Ohio. In 2019, TEDxAkron passed the leadership torch and licence to Kenyona "Sunny" Matthews and Ben Bisbee to continue the TEDxAkron legacy.
