Greetings from TechWorks! We are a center of technology where we document and present innovations of New York's Southern Tier. We showcase vintage technology (that works!) from any industry in any era as long as it has roots in central New York state. TechWorks! is located in the 30,000 sf vintage brick ice cream factory in Binghamton, NY. This factory was built in 1912 and expanded on in 1946 and 1972. This design brings together the past, present, and future of the creative legacy and resilient spirit of the region. Did you know that ideas from here helped win the space race? GE's fly-by-wire, GP-Link simulators, and computers from IBM's Airborne Lab! Other awe-inspiring technology includes the self playing piano, a flight simulator which was used to train pilots, and the Apollo Mission Simulator that generated the star fields used to train the Apollo astronauts to help them navigate to and from the moon.
