NJ LEEP (Law and Education Empowerment Project) is a college access and success program serving students and families in the greater Newark area. Our College Bound Program empowers high school students with both the academic and social-emotional skills necessary to succeed in college and beyond. Our curriculum, implemented over four years of programming, uses law to teach transferable skills. We ensure that 140 high school students, 178 alumni, 250 family members have access to the services they deserve.
Founded in 1967 by visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist Burt Morgan, the mission of Burton D. Morgan Foundation is to champion the entrepreneurial spirit, contribute to a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem, and serve as a leader in the field of entrepreneurship education. Morgan Foundation pursues its mission through grantmaking in support of Youth, Collegiate, and Adult Entrepreneurship; through regional ecosystem building to provide strong networks for startups and scaleups; and through knowledge sharing.
WeThrive is a nonprofit closing wealth gaps by equipping underestimated youth to own their future through entrepreneurship.
Through a learning website and mobile app, WeThrive youth identify solutions to problems in their local community, hone skills as they build business plans, and launch real micro-enterprises where they keep the revenues generated.
WeThrive works in over 20 major cities and has gained support from major corporations such as Microsoft, Fossil, AT&T, WeWork, and others. WeThrive has been selected to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List for Social Entrepreneurship, an Echoing Green Fellow, and featured in major media such as Black Enterprise, Nasdaq and the Boston Business Journal for our work nationwide.
