Technosim was created in 1996 as a spin-off from the Centre de Recherche Industrielle du Québec (CRIQ). CRIQ's Energy Group was then one of Quebec's most prominent expertise centre for energy studies and HVAC applied research. Following CRIQ's decision to withdraw from a number of sectors, two engineers from the Energy Group proposed to transfer the group's activities into the private sector. With its offices located just outside Québec City, on the south shore of the St-Lawrence, and in St. Catharines, Ontario, Technosim is actively pursuing the tradition of quality and scientific know-how developed at CRIQ.
