The TechMatrix was a product of the National Center for Technology Innovation (NCTI), previously funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) award #H327Z060003. The TechMatrix continues to be maintained and updated by American Institutes for Research (AIR) and is dedicated to improving the quality and integration of assistive and learning technologies to enhance the learning experience for students with disabilities and their classmates. AIR is one of the largest behavioral and social science research organizations in the world. Our overriding goal is to use the best science available to bring the most effective ideas and approaches to enhancing everyday life. For us, making the world a better place is not wishful thinking. It is the goal that drives us. Founded in 1946 as a not-for-profit organization, we conduct our work with strict independence, objectivity, and non-partisanship.
