Tech Sonic is a technology company, not a cleaning service company. After acquiring Tech Sonic in 2014, we redesigned its ultrasonic cleaning technology and process from the ground up. That technology became the foundation for Clean As New, launched in 2018 to deploy and validate it in the field. The first phase was about proving the technology. More than 100 refining and petrochemical sites conducted measured trials using Tech Sonic technology to answer a simple question: Can we consistently restore heat exchangers to 100% Clean Performance™? Bundles were cleaned. Performance was measured. Results were validated. The technology worked—and continues to perform successfully today. But those years of field experience revealed something much bigger: the opportunity was not just cleaning. During a turnaround, cleaning can affect NDE readiness, discovery, repair, reinstallation, schedule, cost and LPO. After startup, the condition of heat-transfer equipment can affect heat transfer, energy, throughput, yield, reliability, run length and ultimately cost of production. That realization changed our development objective. Over the past five years, Tech Sonic has developed a patented next-generation ecosystem of technology, equipment, automation, software and processes designed to deliver a step change in turnaround execution and post-startup plant performance. In 2026, we launched the Tech Sonic Turnaround Technology Trial Program to prove that value at the plant level. The Operator establishes the baseline. Tech Sonic provides the technology. The Operator measures the results. The question is no longer whether Tech Sonic can clean equipment better.
