Tech Core Information

Tech Core is a University of Arizona student engagement experiential learning program empowering students who are passionate about technology, business development, and possess a strong desire to explore the world. Tech Core students master a wide variety of programming languages and emerging technologies - including MVC, SQL, JavaScript, Unity, VR, AR, and Mixed Reality, Volumetric, machine learning, and many more. At Tech Core students become paid employees who band together and learn on the job - just like programmers in the wild. Our coders consistently build fascinating next-generation solutions for our UArizona researchers and graduate well-equipped with market-ready skills. Many of them land opportunities in industry (Microsoft, DoD, Amazon, myriad software startups, higher education, and more). All of them graduate with determination and a sense of their essential place in this rapidly unfolding and uncertain century... a landscape of opportunity and risk shaped by our own collective hands - and absolutely dominated in virtually every way by high technology. This is the deepest, most meaningful aspect of the Tech Core mission: to empower a generation of technologists who understand that regardless of what new technological marvels unfold in our lifetimes (indeed, our immediate future) that fundamentally the proper relationship between humankind and our creations is one in which humanity is the ultimate and responsible Master of Technology - and not the other way around. That is our mission, and what this crew can offer - to the researchers and colleges of the University of Arizona and ultimately to the entirely transformed workforces demanded of our decade.
