Team Rays Information

Team RAYS is a recognized student-faculty innovative-grant scheme project at National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur. Initiated in the year 2014 by the students of institution, the team aims at developing a highly efficient solar electric vehicle to provide a breakthrough in the application of solar technology to the transportation sector. Since 2014, our team has been participating in IASC (Indo-Asian Solar Challenge), and have measured good results. Our prime goal is the development of an energy efficient passenger SEV suitable for Indian roads. Fueled by its member's passion for environment friendly and sustainable technologies, the team is dedicated to encourage the use of photovoltaic technology to meet the energy requirements of the future. Last year we participated in ESVC (Electric Solar Vehicle Championship) 2018, an initiative of ISIE (Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers) to showcase our skills, technology and the hard work behind the project. ACHIEVEMENTS:- IASC-2015 : *Ranked 4th Among the 132 teams from all over India in the Virtual Rounds,2K15. *Ranked 10th in Dynamic Round and received acclamation to be the best amongst the standings. *Ranked first in the innovative projects grant scheme organized by the institute and was funded with highest amount IASC 2016: *OVER-ALL CHAMPION IASC-2016 *RANKED FIRST IN: ENDURANCE B TEST INNOVATIVE PROJECT EVENT BRAKING AND ACCELERATION TEST DYNAMIC ROUND AMONG MORE THAN 80 TEAMS IASC-2017: *OVER-ALL CHAMPION IASC-2017 *FIRST IN BREAK AND ACCELERATION TEST *LIGHTEST VEHICLE OF 111 KG *FOURTH IN SOLAR ENDURANCE AND AUTO CROSS ESVC-2018 *Overall 7th position among other 104 teams registered all over Asia. *LIGHTEST VEHICLE AWARD *THIRD IN BUSINESS PLAN PRESENTATION *WINNER OF FUTURE AWARD
