Since 2007 Indus Hospital & Health Network has evolved as an excellence-driven healthcare service, providing free-of-cost quality healthcare to millions across Pakistan. With over 500,000 patients treated every month, the hospital has grown exponentially with a countrywide network of 15 hospitals, 4 physical rehabilitation centers, 36 primary care sites, 4 regional blood centers, Pakistan’s largest pediatric oncology unit and an extensive outreach program. With the vision to change the paradigm of healthcare delivery system in Pakistan, IHHN aims to expand its network to make quality healthcare accessible to every Pakistani.

Akhuwat is dedicated to improving the lives of the poor; those who are financially abused, abandoned and disregarded by society. As a registered non-governmental organization, Akhuwat provides the poor with interest-free loans so that they may acquire a livelihood, skills and support they need to reach their full potential. To this end, Akhuwat raises its funds from Civil Society. It does not depend on international funding; instead it uses the spirit of volunteerism and the tradition of giving, a cardinal principle of all religions. Akhuwat derives inspiration from the Muslim spirit of Mawakhat or Brotherhood. The earliest example of Mawakhat was first displayed by the citizens of Madina at the dawn of Islam, when they shared their wealth with the muhajirin of Mecca. Akhuwat’s philosophy is based on the principle of Qarze-e-Hasna, helping someone in need with interest-free loans, which is favored over charity. From a first loan of Rs. 10,000, Akhuwat’s total disbursement has now reached Rs. 86 Billion in just 18 years, benefiting more than 3 Million families. The Shahid Afridi Foundation is dedicated to supporting people who are in need of good health; to enhance the character of children through educational development and help support communities within the region. While Shahid Afridi is a champion player on the cricket field, and a tough opponent to defeat, he is also a keen observer with a soft heart for his fellow countrymen. He felt a dire need to provide basic health care and education to the community and therefore the SAF project is very close to his heart. Shahid Afridi decided to establish this charitable trust with the object to provide basic healthcare and education to the people of Pakistan. He decided to start from his own hometown, with his own money and his own family and village supporting his noble cause. It’s his way of paying back to the country and his fellowmen, for the love and empowerment they have showered him with, throughout his impressive career. The foundation was established recently (in March 2014) and the core concept behind it is: Charity laced with absolute philanthropy. The three key words here are HEALTH – EDUCATION – SPORTS. The frequent floods, earthquakes and the monsoon seasons tend to destroy the little infrastructure in rural areas of Pakistan. This leaves the people here deprived of all the basic and essential necessities of life including health and education. This triggers a vicious cycle to poverty where people are unable to have basic healthcare. As many as 14 villages within the radius of 10 to 15 km are dependent on this hospital. It is therefore a much needed step and a dream-come-true for the population of these 14 villages surrounding it.
