In 2009, a Microsoft engineer with a vision of bringing computer science education to every high school, started the Microsoft Philanthropies TEALS program, pairing teachers with volunteers to provide quality CS education. Within two years, 97% of teachers in the program can teach computer science, creating the basis for sustainable CS programs.
