The mission of TeachLearnTrade (TLT) is to bring skill learning back to the real world. Online guides, video tutorials, and DIY books all provide a vital service, but they’re just not detailed or interactive enough to truly help people develop new skills and succeed in their efforts. There’s no way for them to anticipate every question, foresee every way things could go wrong, or accommodate the unique circumstances of the person looking to learn. Only a real, live, person can do that. TLT sets you up with another human being with experience doing the thing you want to learn. You’ll have the resources, expertise, and dedicated attention to succeed. That way, if you decide to learn something complicated and easy to screw up—like, say, making your own wine—you know you’ll end up with something drinkable, and not worry about wasting your time, money and, in this case, health! Plus, the in-person, offline interactions help make each skill session a real experience, a chance to meet someone new and connect in the real world. It’s truly the best of all worlds: safer than Craigslist, cheaper and more flexible than taking night classes, and more foolproof and rewarding than reading online tutorials.
