From Chai to Change βπ± Tea2Tree is a climate action and sustainability initiative launched under the WWF Eco-Internship Program. We turn used tea waste and other organic scraps into compost, and use that compost to support tree plantation in Islamabad. Our vision? To build climate resilience and healthier urban ecosystems β by starting at the roots. We work directly with sanitation workers, tea stalls, and local communities to: Collect and compost organic waste from homes and tea shops Use that compost in urban plantation drives across the city Distribute protective gloves to cleaning staff handling community bin waste with bare hands β protecting them from infection-causing materials like broken glass and needles Raise awareness on safe waste handling and segregation Improve soil health to support native trees and reforestation Our project is youth-led, community-powered, and directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): β SDG 13: Climate Action β SDG 15: Life on Land β SDG 8.8: Safe and dignified working environments β SDG 3: Good Health & Well-being β SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Waste Management β SDG 5: Gender equity and inclusive action Through every compost pile and every glove given, weβre not just growing trees β weβre building safer, greener, and more livable cities. πBased in Islamabad πΈ Follow our work: https://lnkd.in/dqsawJna
