The Textile Centre of Excellence is one of the UK’s leading industry-owned, not-for-profit skills and workforce development organisations. Established by industry in 1976 and based in West Yorkshire, we develop talent, strengthen businesses and champion the sectors we serve. Textiles are our heritage and remain an area of world-class expertise, but our reach extends much further. Today, we support employers across textiles, fashion, technical textiles, bedding, automotive, advanced manufacturing, the creative industries, laboratory testing, pharmaceuticals and beyond. Our members and clients range from family-owned SMEs to some of the world’s most recognised manufacturers and luxury brands. As the national lead for fashion and textile apprenticeships in England, we have trained more than 6,000 apprentices. Our wider provision includes technical skills, leadership and management, NEBOSH, IOSH, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Health and Safety, Train the Trainer programmes and bespoke workforce development. We are more than a training provider. We help employers secure funding, develop their people, address skills shortages and explore opportunities in AI, innovation and sustainability. We also create valuable connections between The Textile Centre of Excellence manages projects on behalf of the Skills Funding Agency, BIS and other agencies.
