J. B. is the grandfather of the family and purchased the mobile home park after retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1964. J.B. lives by two mottos that has shaped the way we do business... "We will be as good to you, as you allow us to be" & "We make everything around us as neat as man can possibly make it. Through J.B.'s mindset of dedication and consideration our properties are kept in pristine condition. We are saddened by the loss of the patriarch of this family and the man that established and operated this family business for 51 years. JB Taylor, 93, died Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 4:30 am from complications related to cancer. In hospice care for two weeks prior to his death, Taylor died peacefully. He leaves his wife, Doris Jean Russom Taylor, son, Tracy Jeffrey Taylor, with wife, Brenda Lee Taylor, two daughters, Delores Jean Taylor, and Linda Ann Barnard, with husband Charles Barnard, and his sister Marguerite Manuel. He has 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wida Jean Plunk in 1955, two sons, Joe Billy and Douglas, mother, Daisy Mae Chambers, father, Ab Lee Taylor, brother Wilford Taylor, and three sisters, Edna Griffin, Tommy Jean Oliver and Jenny Bagley. Born in Selmer, Tennessee October 18, 1925, JB spent his early years tending to the farm from early morning and would walk to a one room building to school. JB served a 24-year Naval career from a young age at 16 in 1941 to 1965 when he retired at 40 years old. He earned medal of honor's for many acts of bravery and heroism like when he jumped into shark infested waters to rescue over 30 people from a crashed plane, and even pulled a man from a great white shark's jaws. JB and his family settled in Beaufort, South Carolina where he continued to work diligently to provide for his family at a moving company while creating a future for many generations. JB purchased the mobile home park where he raised his family in a double decker 3 bedroom home, and founded Taylor's Mobile Home Estates, and upon future development created Forest Fields Subdivision. Long known for his positive outlook on life and his hard work ethic, strong stature, never give up charisma and treat everyone as you want to be treated attitude, JB always took care of everyone around him. Doris "Dot" is the grandmama and she is the glue of the family holding us together to keep us strong. Anytime a person is needing a friendly smile or a nice personality to sit down and talk with, Dot is more than happy to provide the caring behavior that molded us to be who we are individually and taught us to love and care and work together as a family. Jeff & Brenda are the dad and mom of the second generation. Jeff has lived and worked in the business since birth and handles all maintenance, improvement, and repair responsibilities. He has handled everything with his father from a young age and knows how the ditches need to be dug to provide the best storm water management to location of drain fields and how to replace them. In short, there is nothing in the business that Jeff doesn't know how to do or how to get it done. Brenda, Jeff's wife, makes sure all things are taken care of within the office and rental properties. If there is anything that needs to be done she makes sure it gets prioritized and delegated to be completed in the quickest manner! Since first coming into the business, Brenda set the cleaning expectation to the maximum and requires our cleaning team to pull out all appliances to clean behind them and make sure any grit, grime or grease is completely removed from all surfaces. The more commonly overlooked cleaning areas like window frames are made sure to be free from all dirt by our cleaning team! Brenda works in the office and handles all managerial duties. The third generation of the business is Jeff & Brenda's children, David and Jennifer. David is the property maintenance and repair technician and assists in any and all functions of the repair and upkeep of property. He makes sure the yards are mowed, weed-eated and homes are power washed. He is also the head renovator, in charge of removing and installing walls, cabinets, counters, flooring, etc. He is responsible for making sure the home looks brand new before a person moves in and remodels them, along with having new full paint throughout the home. Jennifer is the office administrator and assists in renting, showing, and collecting payments. With an Associate degree as a Paralegal and Bachelor degree in Business and Human Services, she is able to work with an interdisciplinary mindset to help when you need it. Through referrals to human service agencies, she can assist the neighbor in obtaining rent assistance, when needed also. Sheri has been the head cleaner for many years and is assisted by her daughter, Ashley. They are the cleaning crew responsible for the homes being in such pristine, clean condition to be ready before a new tenant occupies the residence. The standards of cleaning are exceptionally high with every appliance being pulled out and every nook and crevice without a speck of dust! We are a family business and every person is able to help!
