Air, water, food, shelter, income: nature sustains every aspect of our lives. That's why protecting and conserving nature isn't just a matter of common sense. It's the smartest investment we can make.
Since our founding in 1951, The Nature Conservancy has harnessed the power of nature to help solve our planet’s most challenging problems. And while the stakes are high, so is our resolve: to create a world where everyone thrives alongside nature for generations to come.
We do this by working hand in hand with communities around the world. By committing to a science-based, non-partisan approach that’s stood the test of time. And by bringing people together, from all walks of life, to find common ground in nature.
At the Wildlife Conservation Society, we harness the power of our zoos and aquarium in New York City and our field conservation work around the globe to save wildlife and wild places. Our model: connecting millions of visitors at our urban wildlife parks with the largest and longest-standing field conservation program.
In New York, we run the leading zoo in the US, the Bronx Zoo, as well as the Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, and the New York Aquarium. We also employ the largest field-based conservation program, operating in more than 50 countries. These two activities are deeply connected and mutually supportive.
The American Forest Foundation (AFF) is a national conservation organization that works to deliver clean water, wildlife habitat, carbon sequestration and storage, and sustainable wood supplies to those that value it, by empowering family forest owners to care for their land.
AFF is the only conservation group working on a national level across a wide range of partners to empower family forest owners to cultivate conservation impact in their forests, and to ensure that impact is valued, paid for and supported. We develop strategies, solutions and partnerships to that help landowners overcome the challenges they face to creating well-managed forests.
The American Forest Foundation oversees the American Tree Farm System, the Family Forest Carbon Program, My Sierra Woods and many other programs.
