What We are Currently Doing... We are a small AND MIGHTY team of five incredibly dedicated and passionate staff members. Our drug misuse prevention efforts are initially funded from the Drug Free Communities grant. We are grateful to be able to continue our prevention efforts with funding from CARA, NMDOH, and HIDTA. HIDTA funds a couple of our efforts; in school prevention teaching Botvin lifeskills , and our YES program that links Taos youth with community opportunities in employment and local services. A really important component of our prevention efforts is coordinating workgroups that target substances directly effecting Taos County. Work Groups are the action teams of Taos Alive committed to implementing the strategies defined by the coalition. Each group creates their own initiatives determined by community needs in that specific topic.
