Tanner Krolle was founded in 1856 by Frederick Krolle, a second generation master saddler, who anticipated a need for hand-crafted luggage for first-class passengers at the advent of steamships and railways. His workshop began with the famous 'portmanteau', a solid hand-stitched dresser case fashioned in heavy bridle leather. It became an icon of wealth and respectability and fitting companion on the Grand Tour. Tanner Krolle has continued making goods of exceptional quality and functionality for more than 150 years.
