Born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised in Mexico, Andrea Tankovitz - now based in Miami - brings her unique designs from her diverse ethnicity, which is half Colombian and half Austrian. Drawing inspiration from Andrea's exotic background, she is able to mix and match the elegance and culture of each country. At 15 years of age, Andrea started using her designing skills to make costumes, such as wedding and graduation dresses for friends. Word got around and Andrea realized that she could do something she loved for a living and turn it into a business: TANKOVITZ Featured with an interview commercial at the Latin Billboard Awards, sponsored by Ford Automobile and shown throughout South America, TANKOVITZ has appeared on Telemundo as the New Upcoming Designer and awarded South Florida's Designer of the Year. Shortly after moving to Miami, TANKOVITZ was asked to create two dresses for Telemundo’s Carmen Aub; the designs and colors gained immediate attention and boosted the brand's widespread popularity. Later, she created the dress that Essence Atkins wore to the Golden Globes. TANKOVITZ has designed for Heinz and MTV, dressed major artists and producers, and participated in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Named as "The Brand to Watch at Miami Swim Week", TANKOVITZ, partnered with MAC Cosmetics, shut down Lincoln Road in Miami Beach for one of the best runway fashion shows Miami had ever seen.
