At Tanis J Events we are trained, experienced, and licensed professionals who plan your wedding with the same care that we would plan our own. We are a boutique firm so you are guaranteed the same planner from the initial consulation to your wedding day. Our customized approach allows you to select which areas of your wedding you would like us to focus on or we can take care of all the planning. We are extremely familiar with the Charleston area, vendors, and venues ensuring that you are making the best selections for your wedding. Is it expensive to hire a planner from you? Tanis J Events has extremely flexible pricing to accommodate any type of budget from our "$99 Getting Started Package" to the "Ultimate Full Service Planning Package. Our unique pricing structure is not based on a percentage of your budget, but rather on the amount of work involved. We take into account the location, number of guests, how many people are required to work at the event, number of vendors and the total amount of set up. All pricing quotes are customized for the client. Does a wedding planner save us money? IF you hire us to assist with budget, venue selections, vendor selections and decor, we can save you money if you follow our recommendations. Planners often will receive discounts from vendors, and at Tanis J Events we pass these savings on to you. We are also informed of the pricing of various vendors as well as who offers seasonal discounts and week-of discounts. Our design, decor, and layout expertise allows us to make recommendations that will suit both your style and budget. The week-of package is a stress saver rather than a money saver because it does not involve venue or vendor selection. Do you charge for an initial consultation? We offer a complimentary one hour free intial consultation so that we can get to know each other better and determine if we are a good fit for working together and to answer any questions you may have. Destination brides may opt to have their initial consultation by phone. Do you plan weddings in just Charleston? We offer services in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Awendaw, James and John's Island, Sullivan's Island, Daniel's Island, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, Edisto Island, North Charleston, Goose Creek, West Ashley, Hollywood, Summerville, and Moncks Corner, SC. Should I book a Wedding Planner before I book my venue? If you are looking to purchase a full service package you should definitely hire a planner first as this is an area we can really help with from including recommendations, going on site visits andcomparing each venue. We keep on file an extensive list of all Charleston venues including rates and capacity. For week-of packages, the coordinator is often not hired until the venue and/or vendors are booked. I don't know if I want a full-service planner, a week-of coordinator or assistance with the design and decor. How do I decide? All of our packages are customized so you don't have to decide between one or the other. You may complete the client questionnaire located on the home page, services page, and contact page or you can call to set up a preliminary phone or a free face to face initial consultation.
