Taitem Engineering Information

Founded in 1989, Taitem Engineering, PC, undertakes consulting services in the areas of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural design, commissioning, energy modeling, sustainability consulting, energy studies, and energy research. Taitem’s mission is embodied in its name, “technology as if the Earth mattered.” Taitem’s clients include public and private entities and its projects include buildings in all sectors as well as program- and agency-level support. Taitem’s staff includes licensed professional engineers, LEED-accredited professionals, BPI-certified energy auditors, certified energy managers, and certified Passive House consultants. In 2013, Taitem was certified as a B-Corporation, meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Its main office is a “recycled” nineteenth-century building in downtown Ithaca, which is LEED Platinum certified and on track to becoming net-zero.
