At Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB), we believe that everyone deserves to move through the world safely and confidently—to live the life they want to live. With world-class client services and a robust network of instructors, puppy raisers, donors, and volunteers, we prepare highly qualified guide dogs and K9 Buddy dogs, provide guide dog readiness skills, and offer youth programs to empower individuals who are blind or visually impaired. GDB not only improves mobility for our clients, we further inclusion. As the largest guide dog school in North America, more than 16,000 guide dog teams have graduated from GDB from across the U.S. and Canada since our founding in 1942. All of our services are provided free of charge, including personalized training and ongoing support, plus financial assistance for veterinary care, if needed. Our work is made possible by the generous support of our donors and volunteers; we receive no government funding. Guide Dogs for the Blind is an accredited member of the International Guide Dog Federation. Launched in 2015, Be My Eyes is a globally recognized and award-winning access technology provider for people who are blind or have low-vision. With a worldwide community of nearly 1 million users and 10 million volunteers, Be My Eyes connects blind and low-vision users with sighted volunteers and companies, through live video and AI to tackle the inaccessible parts of everyday life, whether at home or at work; all for free to the end user. Be My Eyes is available in more than 150 countries worldwide and its volunteers speak more than 180 languages.

Aira (pronounced eye ruh) was founded in 2015 to uniquely address the needs of people who are blind or have low vision by providing access to visual information thereby providing independence and agency. Our mission is to remove barriers and make the world more accessible with visual interpreting. Whatever the reason, whatever the need, we provide access to visual information, anytime, anywhere. Initially, the AI in our name stood for Artificial Intelligence and the RA stood for Remote Assistance. Now with millions of calls to date, the importance of a human in the loop, providing access to information that is sometimes rather nuanced, is abundantly clear. We have reinterpreted the meaning of our name, AI now stands for Access to Information. Aira is visual interpreting, it’s access to information through remote assistance.
