Founded in 1990, TA_ is an international architectural studio based in Istanbul, Turkiye. Since then, we have developed thoughtful, contemporary design solutions that respond to context, culture, and climate, layering with modern interventions. The studio is led by Melkan Gürsel from its headquarters in Istanbul, with additional offices in Dubai and Doha. Today, more than 100 professionals contribute to our diverse portfolio, which spans Turkiye, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Americas, and Central Asia. Our work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the RIBA International Award, the EU Mies Award, and the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, reflecting a strong heritage built on modern architectural values. The Partners remain directly involved in every project, ensuring that the practice’s design ethos continues to evolve with integrity. Collaborative and research-oriented approaches and inclusive processes shape a wide range of projects—from cultural buildings, libraries, and performing arts centers to stadiums, hotels, residences, offices, and business complexes. Our practice also extends into urban planning, landscape, and interior design, as well as research, publications, and exhibitions.
