Syria Direct Information

Our mission is to provide the latest news and in-depth coverage from inside Syria while capacity-building within exiled Syrian communities by training journalists in professional news-gathering and fair and accurate reporting. Based in Amman, Jordan, we are a team of eight journalists united by the common goal to provide credible and responsible news coverage to policymakers and the public. We publish five days a week in both English and Arabic, producing original news reports, in-depth features, interviews with key players and videos from inside Syria. We break down the battles and shifting politics, province by province, to explain events within the context of the ongoing conflict. We began full operations on the two-year anniversary of the revolution, after months of building a team committed to maintaining professional standards for journalism for a new kind of war. Our commitment is to report Syrian news credibly and independently. Our funding comes from an apolitical, independent charitable foundation in the United States that has 501 3 (c) status and has requested anonymity.
