Synaptech RSO Information

Synaptech is a club dedicated to integrating neuroscience, neural engineering, and ethics. We aim to promote conversation and collaboration on the topic of neural engineering and related ethical issues and keep members apprised and engaged with UW Institute for Neuroengineering and Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering. Both of these organizations are leaders in the field of neural engineering and are located at the University of Washington campus. These organizations offer events, funding, and other resources that may be of interest to members. We provide exposure to using CSNE equipment for undergrad projects, including EEGs and other neuroscience and hacking tools and offer talks from graduate students, researchers, clinicians, and neuroethicists engaged in the field of neural engineering. In fact, we also hold workshops on potential career paths in neural engineering and related fields and assist with or lead outreach events with schools or events like engineering discovery days. We encourage and help fellow club members who want to get involved with undergraduate research in neural engineering, neuroscience (computational), or neuroethics at the UW.
