Plankenkoorts was founded in 1981 as one of the first windsurfing associations in the Netherlands. The association is nowadays the biggest student windsurfing association in the Netherlands, with a storage facility in Delft, windsurf lesson centre in Leiden, multiple windsurf busses, drinks, party's, camps and competitions!
