Switchfloat Information

Switchfloat valves enable wireline access through drill string float valves. Providing significant benefits to geothermal and oil and gas drilling operations utilizing string float valves, such as air drilling, foam drilling, hammer drilling and aerated fluid drilling. Switchfloat string float valves are able to locked open down hole to provide a clear path for wireline tools to be conveyed through the valve. A pumped ball or wireline conveyed tool is used to shift a sleeve in the valve assembly into the throat of the valve to hold the flapper open. Multiple Switchfloat valves can be used in series and all Switchfloat valves in the drill string are able to be locked open with the same internal diameter. Ensures reliable wireline access to the BHA in stuck pipe scenarios and reliable recovery of all drill string components above stuck point. Reliable recovery of wireline retrievable equipment in the BHA. Eliminates the need to trip pipe to remove string float valves in order to convey wireline directional surveys.
