SWECARE - Developing global partnerships in health Swecare’s objective is to galvanize key actors within academia, public sector (including government), and private sector to jointly address healthcare challenges, thereby increasing collaboration and international competitiveness of Swedish products and services. Founded in 1978 by the Swedish government and the healthcare industry as a semi-governmental non-profit organization, Swecare has around 550 Swedish companies and organizations in its network. Members represent the entire healthcare spectrum – from small startups to universities, county councils, and global corporations, working with everything from biotech to medical technology, pharmaceuticals, and services. Solving major healthcare challenges require collaboration across the care continuum. With a focus on long term partnerships, Swecare continuously expands its extensive international network - enabling member organizations to access counterparts across the globe. Swecare also assists ministries and agencies with their international contacts, receives foreign delegations, arranges seminars, and runs projects within identified focus areas. As part of Team Sweden and a driving member of the Care & Health cluster, Swecare works closely with Business Sweden, the Swedish Foreign Ministry, and the Ministry for Health and Social Affairs to provide members with support necessary for international success.
