SVS Auto Repairs and Dyno Tuning Information

SVS is a family business, owned and operated by husband and wife Leigh and Liz Holman. Due to his family involvement in speedway, Leigh became interested in motor vehicles at a very early age. Leigh Went on to have a very successful speedway career going from sedans to modifieds, to Sprintcars, which he only gave up in 2003. Leigh took on the major role building the engines and fitting out race boats for the Cyclone ski racing team. He travelled to every corner of Australia as well as racing overseas in Belgium and the U.S. The team won two world titles whilst Leigh was at the helm. From there he took his two daughters Chelsea and Sophie travelling around Australia racing go karts, with the girls winning various titles including a QLD state title. After completing his trade apprenticeship, Leigh worked in various specialty workshops where he gained dyno tuning experience. In 1984, Leigh purchased a performance workshop from a well known motor racer and Cairns property developer Ian Thomas. While the workshop has had several names over the last 28years, the name SVS (Special Vehicle Services) has dominated and been a major part of our business growth. In October 2011, after being located at Newell Street Westcourt for 20 years, we purchased our new modern premises at 19 Muir Street Bungalow. The move was a major milestone. At last we had room to move with a large 560 sq mtr open space workshop. This enabled us to design and create an efficient layout that allows our workshop to operate at maximum efficiency. It was only a matter of a couple of months before we needed more room, so we added another 205 sq mtr extension to include our Mainline Dynolog 1800AWD dyno room. Leigh and Liz both work full time in the business and have a fantastic team including workshop controller Dylan Walker. In the present day SVS is the market leader and is often seen as the benchmark so we are looking forward to leading the industry to bigger and better things.
