Every stall she saw at every farmer's market had signs suggesting she ask about them, but every time she did so, she received the answer that they could certainly make them, but didn't actually have any there for sale. Not being much of a baker at the time, she did wonder how hard it could possibly be to make decent gluten-free cupcakes and make them part of the standard range, not just a special order. And after a little experimentation, she had cakes so delicious, moist and light that nobody could tell they were gluten-free, and she set up a stall to see how they would be received. Since then, the Suzzle range has grown to include 30+ flavours of cupcakes, whoopie pies, macarons, beautifully hand-decorated birthday and other occasion cakes, cake pops, rich chocolate brownies, and a range of traditional cakes, all gluten and wheat free. In February 2012 we opened our first shop at 47 Brick Lane and you can now pop down and buy cakes, biscuits and coffee over the counter, or try our soup of the day with a slice of our own courgette & onion bread. We'll soon be offering other savoury treats for lunch, including our stuffed vine leaves, quiches and delicious salads... it's very much a question of 'watch this space' as we evolve! With the opening of our shop, we've also chosen to share another passion - the work of our local street artists. If you come and see us, you'll find works by artists like Stik, Penfold, Jo Peel, Ashes57, Pikto, Neonita and Eska... all people whose work has brought a smile to our face as we've travelled around East London.
