SUSA is an international architecture practice operating across architecture, public art, exhibitions, and publications — with offices in Toronto, Paris, and Malmö. Founded by Sara and Suzan Ibrahim, both with over a decade of experience at BIG, OMA, Adjaye Associates, and Lina Ghotmeh – Architecture, SUSA brings research depth, material intelligence, and design ambition to every project. Our work spans five areas: — CREATIVE DIRECTION & EXHIBITION: Creative direction for the National Pavilion of Saudi Arabia at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale (19th International Architecture Exhibition). — PUBLIC ART: Passage (2016), a winning competition entry for Dag Hammarskjöld Square in Malmö — an 8-meter stainless steel sculpture, 25 meter black granite bench, and 4 meter water fountain commissioned by Malmö City. — EXHIBITION: Installation at the Museum of the Future, Dubai. — ARCHITECTURE: Candy Loft, Toronto — a high-end residential renovation merging advanced fabrication with spatial precision. — RESEARCH & HERITAGE: The Smithsonian's Nimrud Rescue Project — a digital preservation initiative recovering Neo-Assyrian artefacts destroyed by ISIS in North Iraq. Across all scales, we layer histories, cultures, materials, and technologies to produce spaces that are rigorously grounded and genuinely new. Sara and Suzan also teach at the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and the Architectural Association in London.
